Giclée Printing

The word Giclée sounds as though it is historical using very special techniques but it was little over 20 years ago when the term was first used. In the 1980's low volume colour printing used pen plotters and towards the end of the decade, inkjet printers started to emerge but they were unreliable and the quality was poor. Then, during the 1990's, the technical hurdles were solved with inkjet able to print high definition quality prints. Giclée uses long-life pigment ink printed onto high quality paper giving consistent and accurate colour reproduction.

We use Canon technology for Giclée printing, with Canon’s LUCIA EX pigment inks. These inks are of the highest quality for colour reproduction whilst offering light fastness and weather resistance. Using fine art paper with these pigment inks the print should last for a 100 years.

The quality process allows artists to call-off prints as required and each will be identical.

We appreciate that these prints are required in a wide range of sizes from postcard to A1 size and larger. When ordering, please create the file to the size of the print and let us know if you need a border.

As we print from rolls there is likely to be excess paper so if you could let us know whether we should be trimming or whether you would prefer to trim yourself.

Giclée prints are despatched in a postal tube unless otherwise stated.

Order today if you need a fast turnaround and high quality giclée printing. We use professional printers and high quality materials, ensuring that your print is produced with the care and attention it deserves.
